Give Financially

Every kid in Austin deserves quality afterschool education. We believe in the future of the East Austin community where 97% are economically disadvantaged.

To help us meet our mission, we worked with the  The University of Texas professors to develop a new curriculum for our program that breaks up the afternoon into 4 sections- snack time, homework time, crew time, and recreation time. Each week, we focus on different biblical character traits such as faithfulness, compassion, and perseverance. Our Youth Development Leaders use a variety of teaching strategies, including physical activities, music, and art.

For the 2020-2021 school year, we created the SBSK Learning Center, where we served students who attended J.J. Pickle, Mollie Barrington, and T.A. Brown at the For the City Center during school hours. We helped students with remote learning and assignments, fed them breakfast and lunch, and had recess. While the logistics looked different, the heart of our program remained the same. It was a joy to walk through this season with our kids!
